Fellowships Candidates may wish to get financial assistance to cover all or part of the cost of participation in one of the our programmes or courses. Therefore, candidates should first explore possibilities with their employer or national government. If this is unsuccessful, we can be of assistance in identifying possible sources.
NFP Fellowship
A limited number of fellowships for the International Course on Land Drainage is available from the
Netherlands Fellowships Programme (NUFFIC) for applicants from selected countries. Applicants must request these fellowships at the Netherlands Embassy or Consulate in their country, supported by a letter of eligibility from Alterra-ILRI.

Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Programme (JJ/WBGSP)
If your country is a member of the Worldbank you can apply for a fellowship from the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Programme (JJ/WBGSP).

Fellowship via Projects/Programmes
Candidates from developing countries professionally involved in a development project funded by foreign or multilateral aid are advised to inquire with the executing agency as to whether their participation could be funded from a training component of the project budget or from other budget lines.
Please note that the fellowship opportunities mentioned below are almost without exception meant for study and research in the framework of running projects and programmes financed by the donor organisation. It is not possible to get a scholarship is you are not involved in the projects.
